Greetings! Getting our students to and from school safely is one of our top priorities. Recent changes in the Garretson street project have made this priority a little more challenging. In the past week, with Main Street being closed, we have seen an increase in the number of people using the school’s parking lot as a “through street,” going from Main Street to Second Street (even when the busses are loading or unloading). Vehicles entering the lot from the side with the "do not enter" signs create a very serious safety concern, especially when our students are arriving for or departing from school. When dropping off or picking up your children from school, there is a designated area for parents to drop off and pick of their children. The parent drop off and pick up area is in the WEST parking lot, at the gym entrance. We request that all parents use this area for both drop off and pick up before and after school. The area by the East parking lot is reserved for busses only when students are arriving in the morning and leaving in the afternoon. Student safety is our top concern as our students arrive and leave from the schoolhouse. Keeping traffic to a minimum allows our walkers and bus-riding students to get to where they need to be in a safe manner. Thanks for your patience as the City works through their project. We’re all looking forward to seeing it completed. We appreciate your help in keeping our kids safe! Thanks you for your help, Guy Johnson, Superintendent
